Huell Howser (1945-2013) is an icon: a unique character who for decades did much to showcase the history, beauty and infinite offbeat adventures possible in the rich California landscape. The same curiosity and pioneering spirit he exhibited in his many Public TV shows from California Gold to Visiting with Huell Howser, informed his transformation of a Twentynine Palms ranch house into the special place that became The Wheelhouse. His spirit is still very much alive in the property.
